KRK Rokit G3

KRK Systems released Rokit 5 G3

Available in five-inch, six-inch and eight-inch options, this latest generation is a natural evolution of the company’s design philosophy to deliver natural, balanced spectral response, with low distortion and superior imaging

KRK's ROKIT 5 G3 (Generation 3) powered studio monitors offer professional performance and accuracy for recording, mixing, mastering and playback. The system consists of a 1” soft dome tweeter and 5” glass-Aramid composite woofer. It delivers high frequencies up to 35kHz, vocal clarity and extended bass response. The front-firing bass port reduces boundary coupling to allow flexible positioning in the room while the engineered surface reduces diffraction distortion. Multiple input connections ensure the ROKIT 5 G3 will easily integrate in any system configuration. The new KRK ROKIT G3 lineup ships worldwide on September 1, 2013.

MOTU 8Pre USB

MOTU intros 8Pre USB

The new audio interface replaces the Firewire model at the same price and includes several significant enhancements

Miark Of The Unicorn has started to shipping its new 8Pre USB audio interface. In the new MOTU device, FireWire has been replaced by Hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity for expanded compatibility with today's Macs and PCs. Universal, auto-detecting combo XLR/TRS jacks accept mics, line inputs (balanced or unbalanced), and instrument inputs. 8pre USB features also High-impedance TRS inputs designed for guitars, and digitally controlled preamp gain whith -20 dB pad switch. Furthermore, it provides 48V phantom power for each mic input, adjustable from the front panel and from the computer, and Auto-Defeat function that disable the 48V phantom power when a TRS plug is inserted. The 8pre provides eight AD/DA converters with pristine 96kHz analog recording and playback, combined with 8 channels of ADAT optical digital I/O. Thanks to DSP-driven CueMix, 8Pre USB allows digital mixing and monitoring for all 16 inputs. The 8pre supports up to four separate stereo monitor mixes assigned to any digital or analog output pairs. Each mix can support all 16 inputs (8 XLR/TRS analog and 8 ADAT optical digital). The device includes also a 16-channel MIDI interface that provides sample-accurate timing with supporting software..
